In my 5 photos, I had chosen to use patterns. Patterns, to me, add to everything. I used an up close view of all the patterns to show the way they change a plain, boring picture into one of interest. Each pattern was taken from an up close level instead of normal eye view. This is because it makes the pattern the only focus of the picture. When a pattern is the focus it does give the eyes something else to drift too. These pictures interested me because I like the way that a pattern can add so much more energy and life. Patterns are never the same, theres always those small differences that interesting to look for.

For this unit, we ended the unit by taking pictures and developing them. I had to put the photo paper into the Pringles can and make sure no light gets inside. Then, you go outside and point the pin hole towards your subject and open the shutter for precisely 30 seconds. You will then take the photo paper into the dark room and put it through the chemicals. In the end, it will hopefully be developed the way you want it to look. You then scan it into the computer and put it into photoshop.

In this unit, we had to create a layered picture on photoshop. So my first layer was my background. I took the time to come up with what I wanted to do and I decided to do Beauty and The Beast. I found a picture of a castle with a walkway and set it as my first layer. Then I went on photoshopped and made my second layer a cutout of Belle. Next, I put in The Beast greeting her down the walkway. Then I added in Mrs. Potts and Lumiere looking on the couple. Finally, as my last layer I put in "Once Upon A Time" in the corner. I really enjoyed making this and figuring out different ways that photoshop works.

In my photos, I took pictures of the backyard. For this unit, we were supposed to take pictures of one spot at 2 different times. I took the first picture at about 8:00 pm and then the next at about 9:30 am the next day. By doing this, you are giving the subject the chance to change. It will never be the exact same and it makes each picture unique.

So to remake it I went to Ms. Renaud's room and borrowed an American Flag. I then borrowed a trumpet from band. I had Collin take his shirt off and pose for the picture to make a remake.

In this unit, I analyzed multiple categories of humor. Humor is a unique subject, because it is truly a matter of a person's perspective and ideas and personality. We could choose from black humor, slap stick, satire, and irony. For this unit, I chose satire. I took this picture from a perspective of "I'm the best at sports." I captured a girl in gym class kicking the green ball (or blur haha) across the gym. And made it into satire humor. I took it with the idea of making it into a subject of being the best at a sport, or simply, vanity.

In the Identity Unit, we worked up to photographing a self portrait of identity. Identity is what makes up a person, but it also categorizes people and segregates people into "cliques." For my shoot, I decided to do a self portrait of myself in a clique that I generally wouldn't be categorized in. So, I posed with weights in the weight room to portray what would be considered a "jock" and more of a fitness group. Generally, a person would not imagine myself as a part of that clique so I just thought that the jock clique would be the most fitting for a misplaced self portrait.
